rhSP1 (Recombinant Human SP1) Product Information

Literature # 9PIE639

The SP1 transcriptional control sequence is found in a large number of viral and cellular promoters, including the HIV long terminal repeat. The SP1 transcription factor contains contiguous zinc finger motifs that provide specific DNA binding activity. SP1 factor interacts with other coactivator proteins that can modulate transcriptional activity. The SP1 recombinant protein is expressed from a human cDNA clone in Sf9 cells. The sequence of the oligonucleotide used in the purification is:

5'...GCTCGCCCCGCCCCGATCGAAT...3'
3'...CGAGCGGGGCGGGGCTAGCTTA...5'

Please note that Promega's rhSP1 has not been used in transcription activation assays. For in vitro transcription protocols using this type of SP1 preparation, see reference 2 on the pdf linked below.

Printed in USA. Revised 3/05.
